The Things You First Must Learn Before Visiting Tanzania
When there’s talk of traveling to Africa, not a lot of people will think about Tanzania. But what most people don’t realize is that there are so many interesting things in the country that are as equally worthy of visiting to that of the more popular destinations in the continent. So, if you’re thinking a vacation that includes nature trekking, safaris, and island recreation, then you should give Tanzania some serious thought. The truth is there actually are so many things you will love doing in the country once you make that visit.
But similar to going or visiting to any other country for the first time, it is important that you first learn things about Tanzania so that your travel won’t become a disappointment.
1 – Bring your most comfortable and reliable walking shoes.
Traditionally, going on a holiday or vacation means bringing the lightest footwear like sandals and flip-flops. But that no longer works if your destination is Tanzania. What you need to bring instead is a good pair of walking shoes or trainers that will be capable of braving through rough and steep roads and terrains.
2 – Although travel is affordable in this part of the world, you still nee d to book in advance.
Even if traveling to Tanzania is cheap, you still have to book in advance if you don’t want to see yourself canceling your trip simply because everything has been fully booked for weeks already.
3 – If there is one particular thing that Tanzania is very proud of, it’s the fact that the people are great.
There are so many places in the world and in Africa that offer some of the best sights and tourist destinations, but you might easily get turned off by them if there’s a reputation of being not hospitable. The country is quite diverse, ethnically speaking, but the thing is the diversity is the very reason why ethnic groups are so excited in showcasing their unique cultures to visitors like you.
4 – Obviously, you need to secure a Visa first.
It goes without saying that a visa is needed for a foreign national to enter Tanzania, whether your purpose is for vacation or business. But it is also worthy of mention that some Asian and African nationals actually can enter the country with a visa, but the visit is limited for three months.
5 – You have to be ready to adapt to a new environment.
Because you’re not familiar or used to a tropical environment, the weather and other stuff could take its toll on you, which means you need to take some health precautions before you leave and once you get there. For one, be sure you’re drinking bottled water all the way and ask your doctor on how you can protect yourself from mosquitoes.
