Playa de la Barceloneta is a big Mediterranean beach with pale tan shore that slope down towards the water in Barcelona, Spain. The Barcelona beach is believed to be a man made beach and the sand are imported from Egypt. Despite that, it still offer an awesome experience for many beach goers who come from different parts of the world. The beach gets wider as you walk further away from the port.
Playa de la Barceloneta was originally a place where the local fisherman go fishing. At Playa de la Barceloneta, you can carry out a variety of recreational activities like cycling, play volleyball, running, workout in the sports areas, skateboarding, sailing, or just stretch out and relax watch the beach scene. If you are worried about your belongings getting stolen, you can rent a locker at the nearby sports club and keep them there.
Every year in July and August, the city would set up a library offering an array of Spanish magazine, newspaper and other literature. You can also rent beach supplies like frisbees, volleyballs and etc. If you rent books, they will let you use the buckets, spades and water cans for free of charge.
